Andrew J. Zinkand, Jr., affectionately known as Andy to his loved ones and friends, departed this life on December 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Born in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland on May 20, 1955, Andy was the cherished son of the late Andrew and Frances Zinkand.

A family man at his core, Andy was a loving and devoted father to Kimberley Prendergast and her husband, Mike, as well as to Martin Payne and his wife, Amy. His joy was multiplied in his role as “Pa” to his adored grandson, Brady. A supportive brother, Andy leaves behind Margaret and her husband, Richard; Jane and her husband, Wayne; Diane and her husband, Ross; Kevin and his wife, Manette; Patrick; Mark and his wife, Brigid; Thomas and his wife, Lisa; and he was predeceased by his brother Stephen. His joyful presence will also be deeply missed by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a plethora of friends.

For 46 years, Andy was a dedicated Sales Representative at Schmidts Baking, where his convivial nature made him not just a colleague but a friend to many. His professional commitment was matched by his fervor for the Baltimore Ravens, being not only a loyal fan and season ticket holder but also taking pride in serving as president of the Ravens Nest “33”.

Andy’s zest for life was evident in everything he did, whether cheering on his favorite team or finding treasures as an avid QVC shopper. Remembered as loving and kind, his absence will be felt by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. Andy’s life was a testament to the joy one person can bring into the lives of many.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Andy’s life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home – 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234, for a Receiving of Friends on Saturday, January, 4th 2025, from 10-12pm. A prayer service will be held following the gathering at 12pm.
